What is Spiritism?
Spiritism is the doctrine codified by Allan Kardec. It studies the existence, survival and communication of spirits, together with reincarnation, moral responsibility and the progress of the soul.
What happens after death?
In the Spiritist view, death is not the destruction of the person. It is the separation of the spirit from the physical body and the continuation of conscious existence in the spirit world.
What is the perispirit?
The perispirit is the subtle envelope of the spirit. It connects the soul with the physical body during earthly life and helps explain continuity of identity after death.
